donations to the fund for north bennington

The Fund for North Bennington, Inc. works to strengthen the special character of the community by conserving farmland, woodland and open spaces; by operating The Left Bank as a community hub; and by making grants in support of the arts, education, historic preservation and social services in North Bennington and its environs.

The Fund is a charitable, tax-exempt organization. Still, we must pay property taxes and operating expenses associated with conserved properties and The Left Bank. Generous donations from the community help us to cover those costs as well as to repair roads, re-plant trees, and undertake special projects on conserved land. The Left Bank requires investing in the preservation and renovation of the historic bank building, and underwriting the costs of public use of the meeting space.

To keep up with the increasing costs of a sustainable program of community grants we must add to our long-term capital resources. Public support is critical to our ability to meet these conservation expenses and to sustain our grant work.

Planned giving and charitable annuities

We would also be delighted to talk with you about a charitable annuity, a charitable trust, or certain gifts of property. These types of gifts can have substantial tax benefits for you as well as provide critical support for the mission of The Fund. A charitable annuity, for example, could provide an income benefit to you and your family now, and support the Fund’s work in North Bennington in the future. We would be pleased to answer questions related to estate planning or gifts of appreciated assets, or to facilitate the creation of a tax-qualified life annuity in partnership with the Vermont Community Foundation.

Please feel free to contact us, or have your advisor contact us, for further information.
